Bomber Command Memorial, Australian War Memorial

This year we were able to hold the wreath laying ceremony at the Bomber Command Memorial where we commemorated the service of those who served in Bomber Command.

The Australian War Memorial has Bomber Command Commemorative Wreathlaying Ceremony album.

This year the Last Post Ceremony will be on Wednesday 2nd June at 4.45 pm when the Australian War Memorial will commemorate the service of an RAAF member who flew in Bomber Command. You will need Last Post Ceremony tickets to attend the ceremony, available at the Australian War Memorials’ Last Post Ceremony page. Australian’s Federation Guard will be present at this ceremony.

Please note that for this year, the Last Post Ceremony will be on the preceding Wednesday as from the 4th to the 9th June, the Last Post Ceremony will be remembering those lost in the Vietnam War on the 50th anniversary of Operation Overlord, including the Battle of Long Khánh — one of Australia’s last major operations in the Vietnam War.

The Foundation is also holding an informal Meet and Greet on Saturday night and have reserved a limited number of tables at Poppy’s Café following the ceremony where you will be able to order from the café menu. We will provide those who have reserved a place with further details.
